Dawn installation

Westwood Nature Center

Roofmeadow® Type I: Flower Carpet

Irrigation: None

Size: 1,250 square feet

Client: Geauga Park District

Location: Chagrin, OH

Roofscapes Contractor: Lichtenfels Nursery

Architect: Anthony Paskevich & Associates

Status: Completed spring 2002

Distinguishing Features:

This project is constructed on a 4:12 pitch roof. It is an un-irrigated 5-inch Type I: Flower Carpet Roofmeadow® assembly that has been modified for this sloped roof application. It is similar in concept and execution to the Wellness Center project that was completed a year earlier.

Unlike the Wellness Center, in addition to traditional Sedum roof varieties, this installation includes a selection of American native plants, including Phlox pilosa, Talinum calycinum, Antennaria neglecta, Tradescantia bracteata, Verbena canadense, and Potentilla arguta.
