Developer: Bonita Bay Group Status: Completed Summer 2003 Distinguishing Features: This project is testing several prototypes for 'extensive' (light-weight) green roofs in South Florida. The design will be instrumental in developing new media formulations and plant lists that are appropriate for the unique conditions in this subtropical climate. Successful systems will support a dense low-maintenance vegetated cover and resist damage from high winds. Three test zones on a flat-roofed 2,400 square foot building are augmented by additional test trays established at ground level. |
